vermonter as a bay-staterI live in northern New England & I teach at a small liberal arts college. I have several degrees, but I don’t teach anything I ever trained for in school. I do teach everything I ever did for a living, except typing & animal husbandry. I believe in kindness, good faith & snow days. I think people do the best they can. I love cats, jersey bed-sheets, the Boston Red Sox & Bob Dylan’s music. I make fine pot roast. I remember fondly all but two of my old boy friends. I could already be a winner in the Publisher’s Clearinghouse Sweepstakes.

But you do write darn good stories! Thanks for linking me to them!

Gee thanks, Dave! :o) In this picture I’m four, and that is old enough and tall enough to run a Crock-Pot. In fact, I’m not sure there has been much point to getting any taller, since I see things essentially the same way now as I did then, only in greater detail.

I love the pic… And the subsequent comments remind me of the book Glass Castle. (Have you read it? The author tried to cook when she was about 4 years old and it didn’t go so well.)

Hi CuriousC – no, I do not know that book. Sounds like a story I could have dictated, though… Who wrote it? I’ll keep an eye out.

  6. I don’t know how I’ve missed visiting your blog, but I’m so glad I clicked that link from Thoughts-0-Dave. This is great– I can’t wait to peruse.

Okay, I’m going to peruse now.

All traipsers welcome, Romi! I’m not sure what I was going for, content-wise – I did want the paragraph to be as tall as the image :o)

Ah, symmetry. You can’t chop down symmetry you know.
